CHESTERFIELD GREYHOUND STADIUM

The greyhound track at the Nottinghamshire town of Chesterfield was located on the outskirts of Chesterfield in Brimington at 1° 24' W 53° 15' N and operated as an independent track outside the NGRC rules. The track first opened its gates in 1939 and had a circumference of 372 metres. It ran sprints over 265 metres, standard races over 460 metres, distance races over 648 metres, and marathon races over 740 metres. Such was the popularity of the venue that it was able to operate 3 nights each wekk on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
